Pacific Heights Neighborhood

Imagine living in a charming and exclusive neighborhood surrounded by multi-million dollar mansions and priceless views. That's the experience that awaits you at the Hotel Drisco, located in one of the most exclusive parts of Pacific Heights.

Within a short distance from Hotel Drisco, there are three great shopping, walking and restaurant districts along Fillmore, Union and Sacramento Streets that will provide you with an authentic San Francisco experience. Just a short walk from the hotel is the Lyon Street steps, Alta Plaza Park, Lafayette Park, the Haas-Lilienthal House and the Spreckels Mansion.

We've compiled an Experience Guide for our guests which highlight some of our favorites.

Our Local Neighborhoods

Sacramento Street

Subtle and refined, with a slightly shabby chic appeal, Sacramento Street's shopping district is perfectly located between two of the city's most expensive neighborhoods, Presidio Heights and Pacific Heights.

Fillmore Street

Located in the heart of Pacific Heights, an upscale neighborhood featuring beautiful Victorian architecture, Fillmore Street features a variety of boutiques and stylish restaurants.

Union Street

The large number of stores, boutiques and cafes make Union Street an ideal place to stroll and window shop. More stylish than Fillmore Street and more youthful than Sacramento Street, this block has the widest variety of shopping of any neighborhood in the city.

Chestnut Street and the Marina District

Young and fun, Chestnut Street is the main shopping, restaurant and nightlife street in the Marina District. In addition to lively cafes and wine bars, the area is the gateway to the Palace of Fine Arts, the Exploratorium and the wonderful, pedestrian-friendly waterfront.

The Presidio and Crissy Field

A National Historic Landmark, the Presidio is a great park offering many wooded areas, hills, and scenic vistas overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco Bay and the Pacific Ocean. Crissy Field, a former airfield, is now restored as wonderful waterfront park ideal for walking, jogging and biking.

Local Museums

De Young Museum

The original de Young Museum was damaged in the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake, but what has taken its place is one of the City's most innovative new modern pieces of architecture. Make time to have an organic bite to eat in the cafe and stroll the sculpture gardens.

California Academy of Sciences

The newly renovated California Academy of Sciences is an innovative, world-class scientific institution in Golden Gate Park. A multifaceted research, education, and public-facing academy, it features revolutionary green construction and breathtaking exhibits.
